Our good friend Mr. Jim Dunn had sponsons from his PM boat brought in so we could run them this weekend and work on fixing our sponsons from the submarining from Augusta.

The sponsons held up, but we were still lacking in performance

We lost first round Sunday to Liquid Quicker who ended up winning the race.

Marble Falls is set to have a good turn-out for the next IHBA race!

We were still dealing with electrical problems this weekend, even after replacing our old mag box. Because of this, the boat didn't fire for the first round of qualifying.

For the second session of qualifying, we were trying out new props. The boat launched and set fine but shortly after that, the boat subbed and hit the bottom of the lake, cracking the sponsons. The team was up all night until 5am the next morning sanding away to have the boat ready to run Problem Child for first round on race day.

It was such a relief when we won first round and the boat held together! We were set up to race Speed Sports in the semi's; winner would race Liquid Quicker.

We lost in the semi's to Speed Sports. In the finals, they ended up setting a new World Record at 4.53 ET at 252mph! Congratulations to that entire team!

We're looking forward to having the drag boats return to High Point after all these years. Look for updates from the race!
 

Qualified #6 with a 6 something and were set up against #1 qualifier Problem Child for the first round. Won the first round (Problem Child didn't fire) and got a bye into the final where we lost to Speed Sports with a slower 5.40.

Overall, the team really made some progress in getting the boat to run just enough to make it completely down the track on all passes. Now, we just have to tune her up a little and we'll be right where we want to be!

We won't be racing in Fort Worth, but we're looking forward to playing in the points chase for the IHBA in Augusta, GA in a few weeks!

Saturday started off as a very windy day and top fuel was held off from running the first qualifying session. Later, the wind died down somewhat so we were able to get a pass in before race day. At the hit of the throttle, the boat launched hard but did not go past the starting line. We qualified in the 3rd position.

On race day, we again had Speed Sports first round and unfortunately lost. Daryl Ehrlich in Robert Mill's Disorderly Conduct took the win against Speed Sports in the final. This was not that spectacular of a weekend for us, but they guys are working hard to find the gremlins we've been having lately. The team is looking forward to San Angelo and hopes everyone can make it out there!

The Hot Licks crew started our the season with a Friday session test-and-tune. Eager to test the new equipment, we made a planned half-track pass in the afternoon. Shutting it off a little before half track, we found our full 1/4 mile time to be a 6.08.

The Hot Licks team was trying a lot of new things this weekend.

During the first qualifying round we ran a 5.65 which was good enough to earn us the #2 spot after the first session.

Saturday morning qualifying started off good and the first round ended with us at #1 qualifier with a 5.07. We were proud to pull off such a nice pass after all the problems we experienced in Lubbock. After the second round of qualifying, we were left in the number two spot after Liquid Quicker's 4.74 E.T.

Since the change of props in Red Bluff, we have had some difficulties getting the boat to hook up (as most of you may have seen when the nose went under and the boat and subbed at the hit of the throttle in first round qualifying.)

The original plan to race Memorial Day Weekend ended in bad weather and a postponement until the following weekend.

During qualifying on Saturday, we ran our quickest recorded E.T. at 4.79. In addition, we were part of one of the fastest side-by-side passes along with Speed Sport's 4.78. We qualified in the second spot.

Well folks, this weekend was indescribable. Though there were only a few Top Fuel boats there, Eddie's new hull looked amazing and Speed Sports ran a 4.68 making them 1 qualifier, but we did not let our 2nd place 4.93 qualifying slow us down.

The blower came apart, it lifted, broke the pulley and crank, big boom and lots of fire. It burnt most of the wiring, air lines, new computer stuff, etc. Engine swap was no problem.”
